The vision

I founded Sathvora because I was tired of watching serious work disappear into the noise.

An open edition on linen

A memoir is not content. A printed book is not a souvenir. These are objects that ask to be lived with — on a nightstand, in the quiet after the work is done.

Sathvora LLC publishes one title at a time. Our first book is Tiffany Sam’s memoir, Not As Strong As You Think, sold as a digital edition, a paperback, and a cloth hardcover. Digital files are typeset with the same care as the hardcover they accompany.

Sathvora takes its name from a private coinage: sat, truth; vora, the appetite to keep it. I wanted a house that would starve rather than publish work it could not stand beside in twenty years. That is an editorial policy, not a slogan.

The press is owned and operated by Raj Chopra, from Monmouth Junction, NJ. If you have come only to read, you are already the reason the house exists.

“Sathvora is a promise: that what you hold, on a screen or in the hand, was made to last.”
